The Osun State Police Command has announced the appointment of ASP Adesokan Theophilus Adekola as its new Deputy Police Public Relations Officer.
According to a press release signed and made available to DAILY POST by Yemisi Opalola, the Command Police Public Relations Officer, on Monday, Adekola took over from DSP Katayeyanjue Mustapha.
The new deputy PRO, Opalola disclosed, hails from Tede in Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State and has served in various capacities as Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO) and Team leader of Prompt Response Unit (PRU).

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 388 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 187,023.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.
“388 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-166, Akwa Ibom-89, Rivers-76, Oyo-15, Edo-12, Benue-11, Delta-7, FCT-4, Ogun-4, Kaduna-2, Gombe-1, Nasarawa-1.“187,023 confirmed, 168,455 discharged, 2,268 deaths.
“Today’s report includes; Confirmed cases for Akwa Ibom State for 21st and 22nd August 2021, Backlog of confirmed cases for Benue State from 4th – 14th August 2021, 0 cases from Ekiti, Kaduna, Kano, Ondo, Plateau and Sokoto States.”

Joe Igbokwe, an aide to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has alleged a threat to his life by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Igbokwe alleged that IPOB was threatening his life because he is against the philosophy of the group and the Eastern Security Network, ESN.
In an open letter, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo chieftain described ESN as bandits bullying, threatening, killing, and destroying people of the Southeast.
Igbokwe addressed the letter to the Inspector General of Police, Anambra Police Commissioner, Commander of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, Igbo governors, House of Representatives members, and other stakeholders in the Southeast.
The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye, has extolled the virtues of the late Lady Adanma Okpara, the wife of the former Premier of Eastern Nigeria, Michael Iheonukara Okpara.
DAILY POST reports that Lady Adanma Okpara, who hailed from Afugiri Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, died at 97.
In a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Barrister Tex Okechukwu, and sent to DAILY POST on Monday, Oye described Mrs. Okpara as the brain behind all the accomplishments of her husband whose political prowess and attainments “are still celebrated many years after his death.”
