4 European teams whose unbeaten run came to an end this weekend

4) Olympique de Marseille (French Ligue 1)

Olympique de Marseille tasted defeat for the first time this season when they clashed with Ligue 1 counterparts Lens at the Stade Orange Velodrome stadium on Sunday evening.

The home side did their best to draw level after going behind by two goals in the first half but were undone by Wesley Said 71st minute goal which secured all three points for the away team.

3) Atletico Madrid (Spanish La liga)

Reigning La liga champions Atletico Madrid suffered a unforseen loss when they played against relegation battling Deportivo Alaves over the weekend.

Diego Simeone's men conceded early in the game and were unable to recover to earn themselves even a point in the game as they succumbed to a first league loss this season.

2) Manchester united (English Premier league)

Manchester united were also another team who fell to a disappointing defeat over the weekend.

The red devils poor run of form in recent weeks continued as they were unable to find a way past Aston Villa who scored a late winner to pile more pressure on Ole Gunner Solskjaer's who have now overseen three defeats in his last four games in all competitions this season.

1) Chelsea (English Premier league)

Defending European champions Chelsea also fell to a first loss of the season when they hosted Pep Guardiola's Manchester city at the Stamford bridge staduim in an early premier league kickoff on Saturday afternoon.

Thomas Tuchel's men had won all their games so far this season prior to facing Pep Guardiola's side, but were ultimately forced to taste defeat for the first in the 2021/2022 season as they were overpowered by Gabriel Jesus early goal in the second half of the match.
