After having quite a disappointing end to last season, Manchester United are now getting ready for the new season. Weeks ago, Manchester United resumed training but due to the Copa America and Euro 2020 tournaments, many red devils players are still on holiday. Despite that, Manchester United still had to face Wayne Rooney's Derby county as their first Pre-Season game. And as expected, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made use of many youngsters from the club's academy. However, in this article, I'll be showing you 3 players who gave Solskjaer food for thought as the Red devils defeated Derby County 2-1.

Though the game was quite insignificant but it was an opportunity for many young talents to make an impression. Manchester United started the game really well as they dominated possession. And after a nice piece of play from Tadith Chong, he scored the opener for the red devils. Meanwhile, at half-time, Solskjaer made a lot of changes to allow other players to impress.

And after the break, Manchester United picked off from where they stopped as Facundo Pellistri scored to make it 2-0. However, after the red devils lost possession in Midfield, Kazim-Richards struck a thunderbolt from outside the 18-yard box into the net to give Derby County a lifeline.

3 Players that Gave Solskjaer Food For Thought

For those who watched the game, I am sure it was clear that some players were very impressive. Well, here are 3 players that have given solskjaer something to think about.

Tadith Chong:

Tadith Chong was very impressive against Derby County and he was rewarded with a goal. However, Chong won't be part of Manchester United's season as he has been loaned to Birmingham city ahead of next season. Despite that, his performance against Derby will definitely give solskjaer food for thought.

Facundo Pellistri:

After coming on in the second half, Facundo Pellistri was superb on the right-wing. And like Chong, he was rewarded with a goal. Since his move to Manchester United, the Uruguayan youngster has not had an opportunity to impress in the first team. However, after a loan spell at Alaves, Pellistri now has the opportunity to compete for the right-wing spot ahead of next season.

Jesse Lingard:

Honestly, after watching Lingard's performance against Derby, it would be unwise for Manchester United to loan or sell him. Although his long-range shot hit the crossbar but Lingard bossed the game after he came on in the second half. And I am sure he has given solskjaer food for thought after that impressive performance.

So, do you think Manchester United should sell Lingard? Leave a comment so I can know what you think. Thanks.
