Senator Shehu Sani has been advocating for Nigerians to focus on the Nigerian Premier League the way they follow the foreign leagues. He gave a response to the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media, Femi Adesina after he asked Nigerians to take lessons from the English Premier League.

Femi Adesina had tweeted this with a link of an article he wrote about Manchester City winning the EPL after struggling at the beginning of the season while Liverpool FC who won the previous season started very well this season but have struggled in a pitiable manner this season. He related the two clubs situation to Nigeria saying as Manchester City rose so will Nigeria while he also said that Liverpool FC will also rise again.
