Lionel Messi scored a superb freekick in the 33rd minute in the ongoing COPA America. The game was played against Chile on Monday night. Chile's Eduardo Vargas later equalized in the 57th minute and the game ended in a one-all draw.
What would have made the difference was a penalty that was missed by Arturo Vidal. He was brought down by Nicolas Tagliafico of Argentina and a VAR check signalled penalty. Argentine goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez was the savior of the day as he blocked the potential goal. It was a minute after the penalty miss that his compatriot, Eduardo Vargas scored a powerful header that leveled the game. It was a loose ball that he nodded in and it was not without a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) check. At last, it was considered a goal and the play went on.
Both teams are now trailing Paraguay. The group A table topper beat Bolivia 3:1. Matchday 2 will return on June 19
