The France football association which is the body behind the most popular football award known as the ballon d'or took to their official twitter handle yesterday telling the world that the popular award won't be given in 2020.
It is the first time in 64 years the France football balloon d'or will not be given to any player. They body made it clear that the award will not be given this year as the result of some other major leagues in Europe being suspended amid the corona virus pandemic and so many players did not have the chance to complete their season.
This news will sound good to some player and will be the opposite for other players too.
The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, and many others were already being tipped for the award following their fantastic run of form this football season and the sudden change will be a bad new to this players. Lewandoski has scored 57 goals in all competition for Bayern Munich and provided 8 assists. On the other hand The talismanic Barcelona star Messi has been so phenomal scoring 25 goals and providing 21 assist.
