Having played against Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City this season, Chelsea are right where they would want to be, at the top of the English League table as the European Leagues head into a two-week International break.
If Chelsea had been off the top four spot or anywhere on the league table outside the European qualification spot, the narrative would have been that they were worse because of the top and hard fixtures they got slammed with at the beginning of their 2021/22 league.
However, it's not that way. The narrative is one that's very soothing to the ears. Chelsea has played against most of the clubs that could be seen as their toughest fixtures and they were still able to overcome all that and stay at the top of the table.
The Blues started their League campaign by hosting Crystal Palace during the opening weekend of the new Season. This was followed by a trip to North London to take on their local rival Arsenal in the London Derby.
A trip to the Merseyside to take on the Anfield landlords was next for Chelsea after beating Arsenal 2-0 at Emirate Stadium. Chelsea hosted Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge at home in their next fixture before traveling to Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium to take on Spurs.
Chelsea were at Stamford bridge to host Manchester City in their sixth League game of the season. The Citizens outclassed their host during the encounter as Chelsea were handed their first defeat of the Season.
The Blues bounced back to victory by thrashing Southampton 3-1 at Stamford bridge thanks to goals from Trevor Chalobah who now has 2 League goals in 4 appearances this season, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell.
After 7 games, Chelsea sits comfortably at the top of the table with 16 points. The Blues are one point above Liverpool who's in the second position and two points above Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton and Brighton who has 14 points each.
Chelsea aren't just table topper, the Blues also has the best goal difference. They have conceded just three goals this season in the English premier league and they have scored a total of 15 goals this season which made their goal difference to be 12 Goals.
