Former Nigerian u20 player Sammy Ameobi was in a sensational form on Wednesday as he scored twice in Nottingham Forests two all draw with Swansea at the City ground stadium, Nottingham.
The Swans drew the first blood when Rhian Brewster stroke home Jake Bidwell pass in the 8th minute of the game before in the 20th minutes a beautiful play between Yuri Ribeiro and Sammy Ameobi ended in the latter equalizing for the host.
At the stroke of half time, the referee pointed to the spot after Ghanaian Andre Ayew was fouled in the penalty area.
Ayew picked himself up and scored from 12 yards as Swansea headed into the locker room leading by two goals to one.
Nottingham Forests dominated upon resumption as they pressed for an equalizer and sure it came when Nigerian star Sammy Ameobi rounded up his marker before curling his effort into the top corner for his 5 goal of the season as he has also registered 9 assists from 43 games.
The 2 all draw means Nottingham Forests still have all to fight for in the race for the English Premier League as they occupy 5th, a playoff space on the log with 70 points from 44 games.
Sammy is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria despite playing for the English u21 side.
He played twice for the U20 Nigerian National as his big brother Shola Ameobi played at the 2014 world cup in Brazil for Nigeria.
Do you think Nigeria still needs Sammy in the National colors?
