Premier League Team Of The Week For Matchday 5

Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 to continue their unbeaten run, Chelsea also stay unbeaten with a 3-0 win st Tottenham. Ronaldo and Jesse Lingard both scored for Manchester United but it was De Gea who won all three points for United, saving Mark Noble dying minute penalty kick. Manchester City were held to goalless draw while Everton suffered their first defeat of the season after 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal their second consecutive win of the season with a wrll taken free kick in the first half, Brentford recorded their first away win with a 2-0 defeat of Wolverhampton at Molineux stadium. Newcastle and Leeds played out a 1-1 draw.

1. Goalkeeper

David de Gea (GK)

Karl Darlow would have made my team after a solid performance against Leeds United with 9 saves. But De Gea earned the vital three points for United against West Ham after saving Mark Noble dying minute penalty kick, his first Premier League penalty in seven years. 

Defenders

Thiago Silva (CB) 

Silva was imperious against Tottenham, the Brazilian was solid defensively making three interceptions and seven recoveries. He also impressed going forward opening the scoring with a great header and also force another solid save from Hugo Lloris. 

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Liverpool are back in the groove and it's no coincidence that their upturn in form has correlated with Virgil van Dijk's return to fitness.

Antonio Rudiger (CB) 

Rudiger was rock solid at the back against Tottenham he was also terrific moving forward and wrapped up the three points for Chelsea with a low finish from Timo Werner pullback. 

2. Wing-Backs & Midfielders

Matty Cash (RWB)

Matty cash put in an excellent performance against Everton, with the fullback bagging his first League goal for Aston Villa. He made six recoveries, one interception and completed 2 dribbles. 

Mateo Kovacic (CM) 

Mateo Kovacic impressed against Tottenham with a solid performance, the Croatian midfielder had four tackles, the most in the game and also assisted N'Golo Kante for Chelsea's second goal

Martin Odegaard (CM) 

Odegaard helped Arsenal secure their second consecutive win of the season with a well taken goal in the first half. He also created two chances in the game 

Marcos Alonso (LWB) 

Alonso continues his solid start to the season with another impressive performance against Tottenham, he forced Lloris to an early save in the second half before assisting Thiago Silva for the opener with a well taken cornerkick

3. Forwards

Ismaila Sarr (LW) 

 Ismaila Sarr was excellent at Carrow Road to lead Watford to a 3-1 victory. The Senegalese scored the first of his two goals from Joshua King cut back and was alert to put the ball into an empty net after Joshua King attempt rebounded to his path

Cristiano Ronaldo(ST)

Ronaldo scored the equalizer for United against West Ham after Said Benrahma had put West ahead, it was his third league goal in two appearances. The forward was denied many penalty claims in the game.

Ivan Toney (LW ) 

Toney impressed against Wolverhampton at the Molineux Stadium, the Englishman won and converted from spot before putting the ball on the plate for Bryan Mbuemo to score the second goal.
