Another young Nigerian striker emerges in Europe

Adewale Adeyemi

Another good news for Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr who has been given another option to his attacking lineup with the emergence of Paul Mukairu who plays for Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The youngster has been in impressive form this season and has been a subject of transfer from four different European teams, Werder Bremen, Feyenoord Rotterdam, Racing Genk, and Belgian side, Club Brugge.

Mukairu, who was given birth to in Abuja joined the Turkish side from his grass-root team, FC Hearts Academy in 2019 before he was drafted to the first team after showing a glimpse of his potential at the U19 team, where he notched eight goals in eight games in the Turkiye Ligi U19 Elit A.

He has scored three goals in 24 Super Lig matches this season.

Aside from having great potential which is very crucial for a youngster to succeed in Europe, he needs to be hardworking, possesses strong character, and be more professional in taking decisions.

Still, at 20, the youngster has shown with his performances in the Turkish topflight that he has the potential to grow and develop into an amazing top player in Europe.

The youngster is a fast, tricky, and pacey winger who is very intelligent and can get past defenders with ease.

He is also a dynamic and clinical striker who can play comfortably in various positions upfront.

With these potentials and his reported professional attitudes outside the pitch of play, the 20-year-old is destined to be a top player in Europe if he is well managed and makes the right decisions with his future transfer dealings.
