UEFA Champions League

Winning The LaLiga Title Is A Big Deal For Zidane Not The Champions League

Zinedine Zidane was just too emotional to express himself and it is quite understandable.

The man has just led Real Madrid to win their 34th LaLiga title and guess what, it's their third in the decade. Amazing isn't ?

He will switch focus to the Uefa Champions League as the now crowned LaLiga champion (success is good o) travel to the Etihad Stadium on August 7 to play Manchester City who they trail by 2-1 from the first leg.

But oga Zizzou is not bothered o. The bros is so overwhelmed with joy, happiness, gladness, fulfilment, sense of entitlement (add any other adjective if you must) as he wins his second LaLiga title as a coach.

So who is sending champions League that he won four times as a coach? (One as an assistant, them three consecutive titles as manager?

"The Champions League is the Champions League" Zidane said

"but La Liga makes me happier, because La Liga is what it's all about

"This is a tremendous feeling because what these players have done is incredible. I am lost for words because I am too emotional.

"The players are the ones who have fought for this. It's true I've played my role but they are the ones who believe in what they are doing."

Even his captain Sergio Ramos did not mince words when he said Zidane is oga patapata of them all.

"Zidane has been key, he is the captain of the ship and led us from the start of the season - we have always felt protected with Zizou. He is a unique coach."

But what is paining oga Zizzou is that Real Madrid won't be will not be doing their usual open-top bus parade to the Cibeles fountain in the centre of Madrid because of the corona virus pandemic

In his his mind, Zidane would have loved to give this covid 19 pandemic a headbutt as he did to Materazzi in the Germany 2006 world cup final but this was what he said.

"It's strange for everybody, we would have liked to have been with our fans at Cibeles but it's not meant to be," added Zidane.

"But I'm sure everyone is happy in their homes tonight. The fans always love to see the team win and we've done this for them."
