Super Eagles of Nigeria dazzler Samuel Chukwueze was exceptional for Unai Emery led Spanish Laliga Santander giants Villarreal football club on Thursday night, as he guided the club to a deserved 2-1 victory over Mikel Arteta's Arsenal football club of England, in the first leg of the Semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
The Nigerian international retained his spot in the home team's first eleven, and he was able to continue his impressive run of form, as he played a vital role in his team's victory.
Samuel Chukwueze started in the home team's attack alongside Parco Alcacer and Gerard Moreno, and the trio were exceptional on the pitch.
The Spanish Laliga Santander giants opened scoring through Trigueros in the 5th minutes, after receiving an assist from Super Eagles Samuel Chukwueze, before Raul Albiol doubled the lead in the 29th minutes through an assist from Gerard Moreno, to end the first half 2-0.
Both teams tried so hard to score more goals in the second half, but all their efforts were not successful until the 73rd minutes when Nicolas Pepe scored a consolation goal for the away team, as the match ended 2-1 in favour of the home team.
Samuel Chukwueze was outstanding for the home team in an entertaining encounter, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with an assist.
The 2-1 victory over Arsenal FC has now given Unai Emery led Villarreal football club an advantage ahead of the return leg at Emirates Stadium in England next week Thursday.
