Liverpool are no doubt one of the best Clubs in Europe at the moment, with the club almost going unbeaten throughout the season before the corona virus break.

However, the club is keen to add more quality players to the side, in a bid to maintain their good form and improve on other areas of the team.

But according to reports in Germany,Bayern Munich and Liverpool appear to be some way apart in their valuation of Thiago Alcantara.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Spaniard this summer, whose contract at the Bundesliga side is coming to an end.

Alcantara has told Bayern that he has no plans to sign a new deal and they are prepared to offload him this summer.

But, according to reports from Sport Bild, they want £36million for the midfielder, double what Liverpool are willing to pay.

The 29-year-old is regarded by many as one of the most technically gifted players in Europe but has had to deal with injury problems recently.

And the report claims that the newly crowned Premier League champions are only ready to part with €20m (£18.1m) for Thiago.

Jurgen kloop reiterated this week that the club will not be splashing out big money this summer in reaction to the ongoing corona virus pandemic.

Manchester city and Juventus are also linked with Alcantara and could yet swoop in if the Reds’ negotiations continue to stall.

Thiago joined Bayern from Barcelona seven years ago and has helped the club win the Bundesliga title every season he has been with them.

There are rumours that the midfielder has already put his house in Munich up for sale, but Bayern boss Hansi Flick is still hopeful that he will remain at the Allianz Arena.

"The thing is, I always have hope. I’m actually always very positive about things.

"I also know, of course, that when you’re at a certain age and you’ve already played in the Spanish league with Barcelona and in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, you feel the need to experience another big league.

"That is quite normal and that is also human. I’m trying my best to make sure Thiago stays here and that you can convince him to stay.

"But that’s one thing that time will show. We still have the Champions League ahead of us now and we have a lot of plans, also together with him."

Thiago has made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring one three occasions.

So would you love to see Thiago at Liverpool next season?
