Even though it looks like it, statistically, Tammy Abraham is not doing as bad as AS Roma makes him look. The former Chelsea striker is simply a victim of Roma's mistakes in the final attacking phase.
Like Mourinho said yesterday, "We created many opportunities, many half-chances and when you get into dangerous positions and don’t make the right final ball, that is frustrating.
"We did it about 20 times, with attacking players like [Jordan] Veretout and [Lorenzo] Pellegrini near the forwards, but we didn’t make the pass. How is it possible to create so much and then not score ?"
This is just the summary of Tammy's season at Roma. The lack of real service has limited his goal tally for the season to just 3 goals.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen plays for a team that creates lots of chances and make better decisions in the final attacking phase. They have better wingers and midfielders so it comes as no surprise that Osimhen has scored more than Tammy.
But when you compare their overall goal contribution in the Serie A, they are level on 5 each. Tammy has 3 goals and 2 assists, while Osimhen has 5 goals and 0 assist.
The only reason why people think Osimhen is doing much better than Tammy individually is because of how good Napoli have been this season.
