REPORTS: Manchester United join transfer race to sign highly-rated France star

Manchester United football club had quite an interesting summer transfer window as they are very much keen on ending their trophy drought under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Old Trafford side are hellbent on competing with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea and have completed the signings of several star players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

However, that has not quite paid off as expected as Manchester United are currently in fourth position on the Premier League table after racking up 14 points from their first seven league matches so far.

That said, it is believed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is quite disappointed and is now willing to further strengthen his options in midfield and has been linked with a move for AS Monaco central midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 21-year-old France International, who joined AS Monaco from fellow Ligue 1 side Bordeaux has been a phenomenal addition to the first-team squad.

The highly-rated young midfielder had an excellent 2020/2021 season as he scored three goals and recorded four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

The young Aurelien Tchouameni has also started the 2021/2022 season on an impressive note and has scored two goals in 15 appearances so far.

His impressive performances in the centre of midfield is said to have attracted interests from a host of clubs and according to reports from The Sun, Manchester United have joined the race to sign him.

The reports further claimed that the Old Trafford side will now be hoping to beat competition from the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid in order to sign Aurelien Tchouameni when the transfer window opens.
