Currently, all is not well with the current Premier League champions as they lost again tonight against their bitter rival and neighbor Everton FC. Just coming back from a 3-1 defeat away from Leicester City.
The Jürgen Klopp-led Premier League champions look more like a championship team battling to survive relegation than a team defending their Premier League title. In fact, Liverpool currently has the worst record of title defense than any other Premier League team in the history of this tournament.
Liverpool FC looked more like a former shadow of themselves as they didn't attempt to make their derby rival Everton sweat before gifting them an early goal in just 3 minutes of kick-off.
As if that wasn't enough, manager Jürgen Klopp before the game opted to bench Ben Davies a defender he signed during the closing stages of the transfer window, he preferred to keep him on the bench while he slotted the club captain Jordan Henderson as a center-back with a Schalke O4 loanee Kabak.
Most Liverpool fans will be fuming with Jürgen Klopp's nonchalant team selection, and many have questioned why sign a defender when you have no desire of playing him.
Other than Jürgen Klopp's blunder in team selection, his stats as a manager doesn't look too good, the Merseyside Red stats from the last eight games played showed that Liverpool has lost 6, drawn 1, and won 2.
The most shocking part of this stat is that they have lost their last four games in a row, and even a home defeats against smaller teams like Brighton Hove Albion and Burnley makes these results more embarrassing.
Had it been Jürgen Klopp hadn't won all the trophies he won a few seasons back, tonight's result against their bitter derby rival would've been the end of his career at Anfield because, for Liverpool Football Club, it is one thing to lose to other English Premier League teams, but it's a different ball game to lose Everton FC at Anfield.
These stats are truly abysmal from the German coach, and there's no doubt he will be sacked soonest if he continues this form of poor runs. Jürgen Klopp is a great coach but when he's having a poor run like this one, he hardly recovers from it. It has happened at Dortmund despite his achievements with the club, yet he was sacked, and I think with his current stats at Liverpool, his sack is just around the corner.
