The Real side of Mardrid are crowned La Liga champions of the 2019/20 football league season. The season has looked good for the Zinadine Zidane men right from start. They have been ruthless and determined to win the title again after a hiatus. The biggest contenders have been Barcelona who did all they could to catch up with their bitter rivals.
The games on Thursday night was a confirmation of the title to the long-time league leaders, Real Mardrid. Karim Benzema had put Mardrid ahead in the first half of the game before extending the lead after Mardrid were awarded a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. Villareal pulled one back on the 83th minute to crawl back into the game.
Meanwhile, in the other game between Barcelona and Osasuna which aired simultaneously, the visitors had gone ahead in the 15th minute through a Jose goal, but the lead was cancelled when the Barcelona star-man, Leo Messi strike a beautiful goal to draw level. Osasuna had a man sent off in the 77th minute, but that was not enough to weaken the visitors as they broke the heart of Barcelona fans and supporters when they scored a second on the 94th minute to finish the game on 2-1 win over Barcelona.
That loss means the title went to Real Mardrid after they won their own game by 2-1 over Villareal. This win means that Mardrid has won a total of 34, while Barcelona played runner-up for the 26th time.
