No doubts, Chelsea football club were one of the few active Premier league clubs during the summer transfer window.
The Blues are keen on challenging the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool for more trophies this season and sealed the signings of star striker Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Bettinelli to bolster their squad.
With those additions, Chelsea have started the 2021/2022 season on a good note and are currently in third position on the Premier League table after racking up 13 points in six matches so far.
The Stamford Bridge side have also been very good defensively, having conceded just two goals in the Premier League so far this season under manager Thomas Tuchel.
But now, they could now be rocked with reports that experienced central defender Antonio Rudiger is in line to quit the club next summer as his current contract with the West London club runs to an end.
The 28-year-old Germany International, who joined Chelsea after leaving Serie A side AS Roma in 2017 has finally found his way into the Chelsea first team following the departure of former manager Frank Lampard.
The experienced centre-back has shone since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and was a rock in the Chelsea defence last season as they lifted their second-ever UEFA Champions League trophy.
However, Antonio Rudiger now has less than a year left on his current contract with Chelsea and since he has not reached an agreement with Chelsea over a new contract, he could now be set to leave the club next summer.
According to reports from popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his verified Twitter page, Chelsea are still negotiating with the central defender over a new contract but there is currently no agreement on salary.
However, the report further claimed that LaLiga giants Real Madrid have registered interested in signing the experienced central defender just in case he will be a free agent next summer.
Do remember that Real Madrid parted ways with two of their first-team defenders, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane last summer and will now aim to add Antonio Rudiger to their squad should the opportunity comes.
