Good News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Gives update on Eric Bailly's Head Injury

Ole gunner solskjaer has confirmed that Eric Bailly is recovering in hospital after being stretchered off with a head injury in Manchester United ’s loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday.

Solskjaer gave an update on the defender’s position after the game and says the injury had a big impact on the result of the game.

“Eric is in hospital, going through all the routine checks and protocols,” he said.

“He got a cut in the back of his head as well so I don’t really know any more. I haven’t heard or spoken to the doctor about him.

“Of course that moment had a big, big impact on the game.

“Eric played very well in his 42 or 44 minutes that he was on for and we conceded just after the restart which was very disappointing.

"Eric was [until then] a big part of us not having any chances created against us really."

Bailly was making his only second start since the resumption of the season after only previously doing so for the FA Cup quarter final win over Norwich City.

The defender was replaced at Wembley by striker Anthony Martial, with Solskjaer opting to change his formation from the 3-4-1-2 that began the contest.

But the team failed to trouble Chelsea with Olivier Giroud netting for Frank Lampard ’s men shortly before half time.

Then moments after the restart, Mason Mount put the Blues 2-0 up before a Maguire own goal made it 3-0 and game over as a contest.

Bruno Fernandes netted a penalty to make the scoreline a little more respectable but it was Chelsea who marched into the final.

And they will play Arsenal in the Wembley showpiece after the Gunners beat current holders Manchester City in the other semifinal on Saturday.
