Guard of honour for the champions before the match started
The Premier League Champions who were the favorite took the lead in the 20th minute after a lovely football from the champions as Andy Robertson fires a cross into the box, and Sadio Mane makes no mistake but fortunately for Arsenal, they levelled the scores after Virgil van Dijk makes an uncharacteristic mistake at the back, and Alexandre Lacazette pounces to net the equalizer then Arsenal turned it around after yet another mistake at the back from Liverpool and Reiss Nelson finishes coolly from Alexander Lacazette's cross ending the match 2-1 in favor of the Gunners at half time.
Despite more possession from Liverpool in the second half, Arsenal held on and went on to win the match 2-1.
Apart from Arsenal against Liverpool, Tottenham won against Newcastle with goals from Kane(2) and Son, while second placed Mancity cruised past 18th placed relegation side Bournemouth, while Wolves were the unlucky one in the early Fixtures after a late goal from Burnley ending the match 1-1.
