Oshoala's Goal Couldn't Hold Barca's 100% League Record As Ajibade's Madrid Ends Their Unbeaten Run

Atletico Madrid Women host the European Champions, Barcelona feminine to one of those games in hand which Barcelona Women must play to conclude a Victorious season at the Estadio Wanda Atletico De Madrid Alcala.

After just 2 days of a triumphant Copa de la Reina Championship, Barcelona returned to a hot action and took the bull by the horn from the start with great team work and speed. Castellanos interception provided Atletico's opener after setting up Sampedro in the 12th minute of action to put the host ahead. Just 7 minute after, Barcelona's Vilamala returned the goal to level on number. With some Champions respect and fear, Atletico lost their guard as Asisat Oshoala scored her 16th League goal in the 39th minute to seal the first half for the visitors. Barca led 1-2 to round up the half.

A wonderful decision was taken by Atletico Madrid's Gaffer Jose Luis Sanchez just at the start of 2nd half. He substituted Nigerian Striker, Rasheedat Ajibade for French Ema Laurent as the game changed with speed and tactics. Laurent was so unbelievable on the ball with her skills and sharp turning. In the 58th minute she levelled on goal for Atletico and before anyone could know it, she put the home team ahead of Barcelona with her 2nd goal in the 66th minute. Barcelona's Marta Torrojen's 74th minute Strike levelled for Barcelona to make it 3-3 as the League Leaders kept on believing in the preservation of their 100% League record until Castellanos came with the winner just 10 minute to full time to make it 4-3. Atletico Madrid ended the unbeaten run of Oshoala's side after a wonderful show of strength and value.

Barcelona Feminine still maintains their lead on the log with 84 points after 29 games, losing only 1 and drawing none. Real Madrid are 2nd on the table with 67 points trailing Barca Women by 17 whopping points. Atletico's win draws them to the 5th spot as they aim for a Champions League spot with just 3 games to go.

Congratulations to Atletico's Manager for taking right decision in ending Oshoala's Barcelona's unbeaten run in the League. Will this give them the confidence to break into the top 3 for a UEFA Women's Champions League ticket? I want to see Ajibade and Oshoala in the UEFA Women's Champions League. What do you say?
