World cup winner blasts Barcelona board

1998 World Cup winner, Christophe Dugarry has criticised Barcelona concerning their transfer policy in recent years. The former Barcelona forward said this after the Catalans 1-0 loss against Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames on Thursday evening.

Dungarry said point blank that the Laliga giants are clowns and don't a working policy in place. He played for Barcelona in the 1997/98 season before going ahead to win the world cup with France in the summer.

"It's a club of clowns. Everything is done backwards. For example, they buy Coutinho and Dembele and later they sell them. I have the impression there is no project at this club."

"The departures of Xavi and Iniesta have led them to spend a lot of money without the need to. Until now, they have not found the style of player or the quality that those two offered.

"Barcelona have a lot of problems and the worst of all is the bad image they offer [with their performances]. There are too many people at a club of this size without elegance and class. It really is a club that has no class."
