The Premier League will resume on the 11th of September 2021 after two weeks of national team fixtures. The international break always falls after the end of the transfer window to enable players to participate in friendly and qualification matches for their various national teams. Chelsea will be competing in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Champions League in September and there are fixtures that look easy but maybe difficult games for the blues
1. Aston Villa in the Premier League:
Chelsea will resume their Premier League campaign this weekend with a home game against Aston Villa on the 11th of September on Saturday. Normally, fans will expect Chelsea to easily win this match due to the quality of their squad but let's not forget that Aston Villa is still a difficult team to beat and they proved it last season.
Aston Villa defeated Chelsea 2-1 and almost denied a chance for qualifying for the Champions League in the final game of the season. Chelsea may have all have the best players in their squad but beating Aston Villa will be a difficult task for them.
Verdict: Aston Villa may play a defensive game and get at least a draw from Chelsea.
Chelsea kicks off their Champions League defence on Tuesday, 14th of September with a tricky home game against the Russian giant at Stamford Bridge. Zenith St Petersburg is one of the biggest clubs in Russia and has been a regular competitor in the UEFA Champions League hence has the experience in facing a big club like Chelsea.
Chelsea may not find Zenith as easy as they thought and could be shocked by the Russian giant at Stamford Bridge.
