NIG vs DMR: Flying Eagles Probable Starting XI Line-up In Today's FIFA World Cup U-20 Group D Game

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will kick off their campaign in the 2023 FIFA World Cup U-20 tournament today against Dominican Republic at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas.

The game is expected to be a thrilling and keenly contested encounter between the two sides having been drawn alongside Brazil and Italy in the Group D.

Nigeria going into the game will be hoping to secure the whole maximum three points of the day so as to boost their hope of progressing beyond the group stage, hence the manager in charge will also be fielding a strong starting XI line-up with the probable line-up seen below:

Chijioke Aniagboso is expected to be in charge at the heart of the goalpost having been the preferred number one choice of goalkeeper in between the stick with Abel Ogwuche and Benjamin Frederick to be paired as the central defenders, alongside Solomon Agbalaka and Daniel Bameyi to play from the left-back and right-back positions respectively to complete the four-man defence line.

The midfield trio of Samson Lawal, Ibrahim Abdullahi and Tochukwu Nnadi are expected to be deployed at the heart of the centre-field where Lawal is expected to play more of the defensive role, and the other two to play more of the offensive role in helping to get the ball advanced upfront.

The forward trio of Ibrahim Muhammad, Emmanuel Umeh and Jude Sunday are expected to be at the heart of the attacking line with Umeh expected to play as the main hitman upfront, and the other two to play from the left-wing and right-wing positions respectively in the 4-3-3 formation.
