Looking to capitalize on their favorable position of having an extra game to play, Manchester City, the reigning champions of the Premier League, are set to host West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.

At present, the Citizens hold the second spot in the league table, whereas the Hammers are struggling in the 15th position and are still at risk of being relegated.

Erling Braut Haaland continues to make history with yet another exceptional performance, scoring his 50th goal of the season to help Manchester City secure a 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday. His achievement makes him the first player in 92 years to reach the milestone in all competitions at the top tier of English football.

The Norwegian striker, wearing the No.9 jersey for City, has now amassed an impressive 34 goals in the Premier League, placing him just one goal away from breaking the all-time scoring record for a single season in the division, jointly held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

Haaland's opening penalty goal, which came within the first three minutes of the game, was somewhat overshadowed by Julian Alvarez's stunning match-winning strike for the Citizens. The victory extends City's winning streak in the Premier League to eight matches, propelling them to the top of the table ahead of their title rivals, Arsenal, for the first time in 72 days.

Liverpool vs Fulham

Liverpool will be seeking to prolong their Premier League winning streak to five matches when they host Fulham at Anfield for a midweek match on Wednesday. The Reds emerged victorious 4-3 in a frenetic clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, just a few hours after Marco Silva's team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Tottenham fans may have been anticipating a second round of refunds in just two weeks after another dreadful start away from home. Liverpool quickly took control of Sunday's match at Anfield, scoring three goals in the opening 15 minutes through Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah.

The match was also marred by further officiating controversy, as Jurgen Klopp's personal feud with referee Paul Tierney escalated. The German accused the referee of bias against his team, who nevertheless climbed to fifth in the Premier League table with their fourth consecutive win.
