Five Nigerian internationals that will be playing at Watford FC this season and their jersey numbers

Watford football club of England started the 2022/2023 English Championship with a remarkable 1-0 victory over Sheffield United FC on Monday night, and a Nigerian player Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure was able to play the entire duration of the game for the club.

The club relegated from the English Premier League to the English Championship last season, and they've started their preparation towards getting promotion back to the English top tier league in the 2023/2024 season.

Watford football club have never hidden their love for Nigerian players, and they've been able to sign many players who are from Nigeria.

The likes of Oghenekaro Etebo, William Troost Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure, and Samuel Kalu were the Nigerian players who played for the club in the English Premier League last season, but Oghenekaro Etebo has left the club after his loan deal expired.

Many Nigerian players have been linked with a move away from the club in the ongoing summer transfer window, but it's not certain whether any one of them will leave.

Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was signed from Netherlands Eredivisie League side Sparta Rotterdam football club, and he was able to perform excellently during the preseason.

Former Flying Eagles of Nigeria star Tom Dele-Bashiru had a remarkable long loan spell at Reading football club last season and he has also returned to Watford FC.

Watford football club have now handed jersey numbers to all of their players, and all five Nigerian internationals have known their numbers for the new season.

Super Eagles assistance captain William Troost Ekong will wear jersey number 5.

Tom Dele-Bashiru will wear jersey number 24

Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure will wear jersey number 25

Samuel Kalu will wear jersey number 28

Super Eagles shot stopper Maduka Okoye has also been given the jersey number 35, and he will be second choice goalkeeper, behind Austria national team goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann who was on action for the club against Sheffield United FC on Monday.
