The Merseyside Reds legend John Barnes has advised Manchester United to make a move for the Blues transfer target Declan Rice.
The Blues manager Frank Lampard is keen on signing West Ham player this summer and intends to use him as a center-back, a position he used to play during his time in the Blues academy.
“Regarding the ongoing transfer rumors on Declan Rice, I am not sure that he would come into the Red Devils and take over that defensive midfield role, particularly as Nemanja Matic has recently signed a 2-year contract,” Barnes told BonusCodeBets.
“Nevertheless, United must look to the future and Rice is a good young English player and would be a good signing for the Red Devils.
“Of course, he’s a Bubbles player and from his own point of view if he must move on, I think the Old Trafford outfit would be a good place for him.”
The Bubbles reportedly values Rice at around £70 million.
