Kanu Nwankwo and Barca star react to Ekong's statement after guiding Super Eagles to 2-0 win in WCQ

Arsenal football club of England Legend Kanu Nwankwo and Barcelona football club star Asisat Oshoala have reacted to William Troost Ekong's statement, after guiding the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a remarkable 2-0 victory over Central Africa Republic national team in the FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday evening.

The Watford football club of England star was given a starting role by coach Gernot Rohr, following his impressive performance for the team on Thursday and he was able to impress again.

The Tottenham Hotspur football club Academy product started in the away team's defence line alongside Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem and Jamilu Collins and they were all fantastic in the game.

Glasgow Rangers football club star Leon Balogun opened scoring for the away team in the 29th minutes after receiving an assist from Chidozie Awaziem, before Napoli football club star Victor Osimhen doubled the lead in the 45th minutes through an assist from William Troost Ekong to end the first half 2-0.

Both teams efforts to score more goals in the second half of the game were not successful, as the match ended 2-0 in favour of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Reacting after inspiring the Super Eagles to a remarkable 2-0 away victory, William Troost Ekong posted on his verified Instagram handle that;

"Revenge is a dish best served with 3 points. Congrats to my brother Leon Balogun on his first goal. And to our Legend Ahmed Musa on his 101 caps! We move 🇳🇬🦅."

Reacting to William Troost Ekong's statement, Arsenal Legend Kanu Nwankwo, Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala and fans reacted by commenting to praise him.

The victory over Central Africa Republic national team has now taken Super Eagles of Nigeria to the top spot of their group with 9 points from 4 matches played.
