Despite being up at halftime, the blues have been hit with a double blow as record signing, Romelu Lukaku was substituted in the 23rd minute due to an ankle injury. The former Inter Milan star won a penalty, but failed to get up, left writhing in agony on the floor.
However, just before the halftime whistle, the blues were forced into their second substitution of the night after Timo Werner picked up an hamstring injury in the 43rd minute.
He was later replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi.
With both of the players out injured and no update on their injuries, it might be a serious problem for Thomas Tuchel as he enters a crucial period in the Premier League. They are currently leading the table in the EPL.
Do you think Chelsea will be able to survive with both strikers out injured? Drop your thoughts in the comment section and don’t forget to share. Thank you
