Chelsea won the UCL title last season, they are the current defending champions of this trophy. Many players will like to join Thomas Tuchel's side because of their great achievements.

Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez in the last transfer window, they also targetted Jules Kounde but Sevilla heightened the defender's transfer fee.

Chelsea slowed down in the pursuit of a central defender after Thomas Tuchel discovered the talent of another young center-back named 'Jules Kounde'.

Antonio Rudiger is one of Chelsea's best defenders currently, he got nominated for UEFA best defender but did not win it.This defender is known for frustrating his opponents, he did that to Luiz Suarez and Moussa Marega last season.

Chelsea are currently having contract issues with Antonio Rudiger, the German defender is demanding for a huge salary bonus but the blues are still hesistating. There is a possibility that Rudiger would leave Stamford bridge if Marina fails to reach an agreement. paris Saint German and Bayern Munich have already identified their interest in signing Rudiger but Chelsea have not given a green light.

Also, the blues have identified another young defender as the possible player who might find his way to Stamford bridge if Rudiger departs. The name of this player is Matthjis De Ligt, he is a Dutch and only 22 years of age.

He has gathered much experience as seen in his games at Netherland where he pairs with Virgil Van Dijk. The question here remains, would it be a transfer mistake for Marina to sell Rudiger and buy De Ligt?

I think it is a great mistake for Chelsea to sell Rudiger, they should focus on anything that will make the defender to stay back instead of targetting other center-backs.
