POR 3:2 GHA: Former Man Utd Star Wins Man Of The Match Award After A Fine Performance Today

Cristiano Ronaldo captained Portugal in their first game of the FIFA World Cup today when they welcomed Ghana to the 974 Stadium on Thursday evening. The Former Man Utd Star had a fine performance in the game as he inspired Portugal to an important 3-2 victory over Ghana.

The first half of the match didn't get lots of football actions as Portugal slightly dominated proceedings giving Ghana a hard time defensively. No arrival of a goal made the scoreline goalless heading into the halftime break.

Cristiano Ronaldo made the break though happen in the 65th minute of the match as he converted brilliantly from the penalty spot to make the scoreline 1-0 in Portugal's favour. Ghana did well to get the equaliser in the 73rd minute through Andre Ayew's strike but it didn't last for long as Portugal restored their lead just immediately through a decent finish from Joao Felix. Super-sub Raphael Leao extended the lead in the 80th minute while Osman Bukari got Ghana a late consolation goal to make the final scoreline 3-2.

Cristiano Ronaldo was obviously one of Portugal's best players in today's match as he displayed a brilliant performance against Ghana. The 37-year-old won the man of the match award for his great output on the pitch today.
