Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League standings after a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

While Chelsea dominated Spurs in the second half, the Blues struggled to cope with their opponents' energy in the first.

To counter Tottenham's dominance in the first half, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel switched to a 3-5-2 system, replacing Mason Mount with N'Golo Kante.

With that in mind, let's take a look at the game's most important points.

N'Golo Kante has had an unmatched effect on this Chelsea team.

Chelsea were terrible in the first half, there's no way about it. Tuchel needed to make a move, so he brought on N'Golo Kante at halftime. Under Tuchel's system, the three of Kovacic, Jorginho, and Kante played together for the first time. There was a formation change, and Kante was in the center of it.

The arrival of Kante significantly altered the game's dynamic. Both Kovacic and Jorginho had the opportunity to influence the game to Chelsea's liking thanks to Kante's defensive qualities. N'Golo Kante is a complete midfielder in many aspects, as Tuchel properly stated in his post-match press conference, and gives a lot to the club when he is on the pitch. Not to mention that the Frenchman scored a goal today.

The Ben Chilwell vs. Marcos Alonso debate

This season, the left wing-back position at Chelsea is proving to be extremely fascinating. Ben Chilwell is without a doubt the first-choice defender in that position. Alonso, on the other hand, has made a solid case for himself by seizing the opportunity.

The 30-year-old Spaniard has done an excellent job on defense and, as usual, has been a constant attacking danger in recent weeks. We still have a long way to go this season, but the battle for this position may be interesting.
