Stop belittling Igbo please, Bashir Ahmad replies Twitter user who says he disrespects the Igbo's

Bashir Ahmad Tells Twitter user to stop belittling Igbo after a Twitter user accused him of disrespecting Igbo's because of his comment on Peter Obi's post.

Bashir Ahmad, special assistant on digital communication to President Muhammadu Buhari, has responded to a Twitter user who attacked him over his comment on Peter Obi's congratulatory message to Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian-born striker helped Napoli seal the Seria A league title.

Peter Obi congratulated the striker via a post on his official Twitter account, and Bashir Ahmad replied to his tweet by saying that the president elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had already congratulated the striker on the country's behalf and that there was no need for repetition.

A Twitter user (@Jona_Nwanne) attacked Bashir Ahmad for his comment and said his disrespect and bigotry for the Igbo are overwhelming.

@Jona_Nwanne replied to Bashir Ahmad by tweeting, "@BashirAhmaad, you forget that you're holding an official position; this disrespect and bigotry for Igbos is overwhelming."

Bashir Ahmad, however, replied to this tweet by saying, "It would help if you guys stopped this unnecessary blackmailing; it hasn’t worked, and it will never work. To you, a reply to Peter Obi is an automatic attack on the whole Igbo race. Stop belittling Igbo, please. The third-largest ethnic group in Nigeria is sure bigger than an individual, no matter how powerful he thinks he is. And you guys should know better. How is commenting on Mr. President's or Mr. President-elect’s tweets an automatic attack on the Hausa, Fulani, or Yoruba race? Ijaws had never complained about being attacked just because of engagements on former President Jonathan’s social media platforms.  "Grow up, please."
