
John Mikel Obi led his new club Kuwait Sporting Club for the first time in a friendly game on Tuesday.
The former Super Eagles and Chelsea star captained Kuwait Sporting Club in their 2-0 win over Al-Sayib in an exhibition game.
Mikel played the entire minutes of the encounter, but wasn't unable to mark his debut for the Club with a goal.

Mikel signed for the Club in July after agreeing to end his contract with English Championship Outfit Stoke City.

Reacting to his first game for the club, Mikel said : first friendly game, let's keep on building " he posted on Instagram.
He signed a one-year contract with the club with an option for another year. The 33-year-old will pocket $4million for the duration of the deal.
The Kuwait Premier League will start later this month and all eyes will be on Mikel who is expected to lead his side.

Kuwait SC have won the Kuwaiti Premier League 15 times, with the most recent one coming in 2018–19. They also have 47 trophies to their name, and they are the first team in Kuwait to win Asia Champions League.
