2 Lessons To Learn From The Words Of The Spiritualist Who Claims To Have Destroyed Essien's Career

Some days ago, a spiritualist in Ghana who is popularly known as "Spiritual Father" was speaking on Vibes in 5 with Arnold Mensah Elavanyo, a Ghanaian TV programme, made some bold claims about destroying the career of former Ghana and Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien.

He revealed the reason behind why he allegedly brought Essien down.

In his words;

"I handle about 50 Ghanaian footballers, some of who are currently plying their trades abroad. But I’ve caused the downfall of the players who didn’t appreciate my services."

"Essien promised to buy me a house in Accra if I helped his football career to blossom. He didn’t deliver on the promise so I brought him down."

Several sports outlets have published this story and after reading them and seeing people's comments about it, I believe there are lessons to be learnt from the words of the spiritualist.

This lesson is not just a lesson for football players, it's for everyone. It's important that everyone takes note of these lessons.

Here are just two lessons to learn from Spiritual Father's words

1. Never Make Promises You Can't Keep

This is a very important thing to note in the journey of life. No matter what you do as an individual, whether you're a footballer, a banker, or even a student, never make a promise you know you can not keep. The consequences can be disastrous.

2. Always Fulfill A Promise You Make At The Appropriate Time

Making promises can be very easy and sweet to do but fulfilling them can be hard for people sometimes. Now, It doesn't matter if the person you make a promise to is a 5 year old child, it is very important to fulfil them at the appropriate time.

When Essien was at Lyon and especially at Chelsea, he used to be one of the best midfielders in the world.

But towards the end of his time at Chelsea, he was affected by injuries a lot.

By the time he left Chelsea, there was nothing left for the legend to offer in football, mostly because of the injuries that plagued him. This made him end his career after several spells across random clubs in Europe.
