Since Cristiano Ronaldo's Arrival, Check Out Mason Greenwood's Poor Stats For Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo's homecoming has somehow affected Mason Greenwood's output in games for Manchester United.

Dubbed the next "Robin Van Persie" because of their similarity in finishing, Greenwood who recently turned 20 already has 32 goals to his name as a teenager for his boyhood club.

Before Ronaldo made his second debut for the Red Devils last month, Greenwood had either won or rescued a point for the Red Devils with 3 goals in 3 Premier League games.

In the first match of the season against Leeds at Old Trafford, it was Greenwood who restored Man United's lead with a sumptuous goal as they went on to win the game 5-1.

Then in the next fixture away to Southampton, Greenwood's second half strike earned his team a point before bagging the winning goal against a side as tough as Wolves the next weekend.

However, in 7 games after Ronaldo came back to the club where he won his first Ballon d'Or as a player, it's been a rough ride for Mason Greenwood who was beginning to become the team's go-to man in certain situations during a match.

And While Ronaldo already has 5 goals in 6 matches, Greenwood is currently on a 7-game goal drought.

But this is not the first time such is happening to a player. Paulo Dybala was once the main man at Juventus, and was instrumental for the club in their run to the Champions League final back in 2017.

Well, Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018 and it had a negative effect on Dybala who went from being the star player of his team to almost being sold to Tottenham Hotspur.

Karim Benzema is another case study. The Frenchman played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid but was mainly a squad player until 2018 when CR7 left. We can all witness what Benzema has done in the absence of Ronaldo all these while.

In 10 games across all competitions for Real Madrid this season, Benzema has scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists as an out and out striker. Would he have posted half of these insane stats if Ronaldo is still in Madrid? Probably not, but it doesn't mean Ronaldo is a bad energy.

In the meantime, Ronaldo's presence in Manchester United will probably make it difficult for Mason Greenwood to be the main man, but if anything, it can help the youngster become a better player.
