Manchester United are looking to off-load some of their current players to accommodate new incomings this summer. Ethan Laird is one of the players the 20 times champion are willing to let go either on loan or on a permanent deal.
Ajax have shown interest in Manchester United's young defender Ethan Laird, The Red Devils will be open to let him go following the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax this summer for £55million. After Ajax lost Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United this summer, as well as right back Noussair Mazraoui to Bayern Munich, the Eredivisie champions are on the hunt for a new full back and have identified Red Devils 20 year old defender Ethan Laird as a potential candidate to fill the void. The England Under-19 international spent last season on loan with Championship clubs Swansea City and Bournemouth, playing 21 times for Swansea and only 6 times for Bournemouth.
The 20 year old has just one year left in his contract and will be open to a move away from Old Trafford. Ethan Laird has made just two senior appearances for Manchester United and could be the second defender to join Ajax following the arrival of Calvin Bassey from Rangers for an initial fee of £20million.
United may have had plans to loan him out, but they may be willing to sell him permanently for the right price. It is reported that a fee of around £10million will be enough to get the deal done. Ajax are currently preparing their first bid for the 20 year old defender.
