Premier League: Today's Result And The Match Report

Chelsea play out a goaless draw with Brighton as they only manage three efforts on goal in the opening 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge and the goalless draw took them into the Champions Leagues place.

Before the match kick-off Chelsea were preparing to withdraw out of the European Super League (ESL) and at the same time, their fans were protesting outside the Stamford Bridge against the club inclusion in the competition.

Manchester City confirm their withdrawal and the Blues are set to follow their footsteps, there are currently 12 clubs involved in the competition.

Thomas Tuchel's side created a few chance but a point was enough for them to leapfrog West Ham who they face on Saturday this weekend as the Champions League race continue.

Chelsea will now need to finish in the top four or win the Champions League, to be among those that will be playing in European Competition next season.

Brighton threat Chelsea late on as Adam Lallana fired a shot wide before Danny Welbeck hits the post.

They also had defender Ben White sent off in the stoppage time for a second booking but it comes to late for Chelsea to capitalize on it.

Brighton are now seven points above the relegation zone with six games remaining.
