Super Eagles asset warms up for World Cup qualifiers with impressive performance for Portuguese club

Nigeria international, Chidozie Awaziem had an outstanding game on Monday night to help his Boavista outfit to keep a clean sheet while posting a 3-0 win over Paços Ferreira.

The two clubs were in action at the Estádio do Bessa Século XXI for a Matchday 2 fixture in the 2021/2022 Portuguese Primeira Liga season.

As a result of his impressive performances for Boavista this season, Awaziem earned a starting role today and played a key role to help the side win their first match of the campaign.

Awaziem picked up a booking in the 53rd minute of the encounter.

Having lasted the entire duration of the game, the Super Eagles asset made 2 successful tackles, won 2 of his tackles, and had a passing accuracy of 77% to merit a rating of 7.2 from statistical website Whoscored.com.

On the Matchday, Gambian born attacker Yusupha Njie drew the first blood. The duo of Javi Garcia and Jeriel De Santis sealed the 3-0 win for Awaziem and his teammates.

This season, Chidozie Awaziem has played in 2 matches for Boavista and has been solid at the back for the team.

He is expected to be invited by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers which begins next month.
