The club have moved on from getting managers. Chelsea employ head coaches. Where it’s a case of make it work as best you can. The board will decide who you have to work with and what way we will go in the market. Now smile and pretend you are happy with it in the press conferences.
It has to be a collective decision. Can't just be solely the managers or solely the clubs. The scouting department have a huge role.
If Chelsea's current outlook to transfers existed in 2016, they would've signed Granit Xhaka over N'Golo Kante because of "technique" and what-not. That's the best I can put it. They've lost track of what they actually need to win trophies, we need to get back on track ASAP.
Missing out on Lukaku, the chaos of 2017-18, signing a third-rate GK for a world-record fee, paying 55m for a severely one-dimensional midfielder, signing Higuain, not getting rid of deadwood, there are so many mistakes Chelsea've made of late. Snapping out of them will be hard.
Midfield. Jorginho and Kovacic have both been good under Tuchel, but Jorginho has had at least five false dawns at the club already. Kovacic is a trickier question - very talented but not intelligent.
