Four Famous Players Who Were Once Ball Boys

Most players had to go through academies before going on to become professional footballers.

These youth set ups train these lads up until they graduate and become professional football stars.

During their academy days, they undergo different trainings and part of it is to be used as ball boys in matches.

In this article, we are going to look at four professional footballers who were once ball boys.

1. Phil Foden

Phil Foden has been a Manchester City fan from a young age and has even being a match day mascot when the Cityzens took on Sunderland in 2007.

Fast forward five years later, Foden was at the Etihad Stadium, as a ball boy, when Sergio Aguero scored the winning goal that saw Manchester City claim the Premier League title in 2012.

2. Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata was once a ball boy for Atletico Madrid before he made a name for himself with Real Madrid.

The player once said that he still has his ball boy kits and membership card at home.

3. Presnel Kimpembe

Presnel Kimpembe is another footballer who was a ball boy before becoming a professional footballer.

The player was selected to be one of the ball boys in a match at the Park de Princes between Paris Saint Germain and Olympique Marseille when he was a boy at AS Eragny.
