Real Madrid star inspires his team to UEFA Nations League glory after 2-1 comeback win against Spain

Spanish La Liga Santander giant, Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema was in action on Sunday night for France in their final of the UEFA Nations League against Spain at the San Siro.

The forward maestro was handed a role in his team's starting XI having established himself as a key figure in the squad paraded by Didier Deschamp following his return to the national team.

The former Olympique Lyonnaise football club of France star was superb and exceptional in the whole 90 minutes duration of the game as he played key roles in his team's success to emerge as the Champions of the competition.

The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides as there was nothing to separate them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw.

After playing out an intensed goalless first half, the tempo got heated up as Spain opened the scoring sheet in the 64th minute with a goal from Mikel Oyarzabal to make it one nil before Karim Benzema put the Les Bleus back into the game with an equaliser in the 66th minute to make it 1-1.

In the 80th minute of the game, France got their deserved winner with a goal from Kylian Mbappé to make it two goals to one.

After several attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful as it ended two goals to one at full time.

The win for France means they are now the newest Champions of the competition becoming the second winner after Portugal who won it last in its maiden edition.
