5 Things Super Eagles Need To Change Before They Can Qualify For The World Cup

The Super Eagles will have to wait to see who they will face in the playoff in other to guarantee them qualification into the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Going into the cracker, the super eagles will have to change the following;

They will have to drop Odion Ighalo and go for more promising players like Taiwo Awoniyi or Watford man, Dennis Emmanuel who are both in form in Europe. Odion Ighalo showed us he has nothing else to offer to the team after they played out a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in Lagos.

Nantes winger, Moses Simon deserves to be dropped from the team. He is not good on the attacking side as his pullouts are nothing to write about. A Chukwueze or Chidera Ejuke will be a better replacement for him.

We need fresh Center Backs in the team. The duo of Leon Balogun and William Troost Ekong have not been convincing as they are prone to errors. In the match against Cape Verde in Lagos, Ekong gave away the corner that led to the equaliser, and also lost his marker as the corner kick was taken.

We still lack creativity in the middle of the park. We are yet to get a creative midfielder who can create chances and release our striker, Osimhen. Iheanacho gives his best in that position but he is not a natural creative midfielder.

Lastly, the NFF need to Sack Gernot Rohr. The German have proven he can’t take the Super Eagles far. He has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016 and still can’t boast of his starting IX. His selections are dreadful, his decisions to make substitutions early in the game are also appalling.

The playoffs will take place in March 2022 and after the cracker, the Super Eagles will know if they will be taking part at the World Cup in Qatar.
