La Liga

Barcelona player, Ansu Fati will sign his new contract today

Without any doubts, FC Barcelona were one of the few busy Spanish La Liga clubs during the summer transfer window before it was shut last month.

The La Liga giants are keen on winning back the prestigious La Liga trophy from bitter rivals Atletico Madrid this season and have signed the likes of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Luuk de Jong to bolster their squad.

However, that has not gone to plan so far as Barcelona are currently lying in 7th position on the La Liga table after taking up 15 points from their first eight league matches.

Despite that disappointing start to the season, the Camp Nou side remain hellbent on keeping their highly-rated youngsters for the long-term by offering them new contracts.

And now that young midfielder Pedri has committed his future to the club, another Barcelona youngster in Ansu Fati is set to do the same.

The 18-year-old Spain International, who joined Barcelona from La Liga side Sevilla in 2012 has finally found his way into the Barcelona first-team.

The young left-winger had an impressive 2020/2021 season where he scored five goals while also providing four assists in 10 appearances in all competitions.

Ansu Fati has also started the 2021/2022 season and has scored two goals and recorded one assist in four appearances in all competitions so far.

His excellent performances in attack is said to have impressed the Barcelona board and they are now keen on keeping him at the club for the foreseeable future.

And according to reports from popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his verified Twitter page, Ansu Fati is interested in staying at the club and will technically sign the new contract today.

The reports from Fabrizio Romano further claimed that his salary will include add-ons and the deal is set to be officially announced tomorrow.

That said, Ansu Fati will now aim to continue his developments at the Camp Nou as they bid to challenge on all fronts this season.
