Chelsea set to offer defender a new contract after impressing Tuchel in training

Chelsea are reportedly planning to start discussions with Dujon Sterling about extending his current contract.

According to Goal, the Blues want to reward Sterling for his hard work and perseverance following his extended injury layoff with a lucrative contract, Due to a serious illness and a hamstring issue, the 21-year-old was forced to miss 13 months of action, He returned to Chelsea training recently and is currently part of Thomas Tuchel's pre-season camp.

Tuchel has reportedly been impressed by the young defender's performances and attitude, Sterling is keen on remaining at Chelsea, the club he joined as a child, His contract expires in June, and Championship clubs are already circling for his signature, Chelsea, though, believe they must repay the full dedication back's because of his determination to continue at Stamford Bridge, Unfortunately for the Blues, not all of their academy graduates are loyal to the club.

Marc Guehi recently joined Crystal Palace, while Lewis Bate is on the verge of joining Leeds, and Tino Livramento and Myles Peart-Harris are also on the verge of signing, Chelsea's hierarchy has been caught off guard by such a quick exodus of young players, which they wish to avoid at all costs.
