Manchester United maybe a club with rich history, but there's no question that their most successful era came under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson who was at the club from 1986 to 2013. In the 26 seasons that he spent, the Scottish alone won 38 of the 66 trophies the Red Devils have amassed historically, which is more than 50 percent of the entire silverwares.
However, following his retirement in 2013, things have not been the way they used to be for the Red contingent of Manchester, infact, it is as if the 79 year old left with the club's winning mentality. With this in mind, take a look at a list of all the trophies United have won in the post Ferguson era;
1- Two FA Community Shields
The season curtain raiser game was the very first silverware that the Red Devils lifted shortly after Ferguson's departure. It was initially won in 2013 following a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletics and In 2016, under the management of Jose Mourinho, United lifted it again after beating Leicester City 2-1 at Wembley.
20162- One UEFA Europa League (2017)
In 2017, Manchester United defeated Ajax 2-0 at Stockholm to secure their first ever Europa League title thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
3- One Carabao Cup (2017)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jesse Lingard were on target as Manchester United saw off Southampton to clinch the Carabao Cup at Wembley.
4- One FA Cup (2015)
Under the regime of Louis Van Gaal, the Red Devils secured their first FA Cup trophy in twelve years, it was the only silverware that the Dutchman won.
As seen above, the Red contingent of Manchester have only managed five trophies since Sir Alex Ferguson departed the club and this excludes the Premier league and Champions League titles. Going by their standards, this is definitely a poor statistics considering the amount of money that they have expended to recruit quality players in the last couple of seasons. Its been eight long years without the Premier League title and many will agree that it is high time they began changing this unwanted record.
