Check out how Barça's new Brazilian star Raphinha plays, and Why he will benefit Xavi's team

Raphinha is already a Barça player. The most important economic bet of Barça 22-23 is a pure winger, very disciplined, who brings rhythm, capacity of overflow and goal. The 25-year-old Gaucho striker, an undisputed starter at Leeds and in the Seleçao, is a player of proven quality, in clear progression and who will come to the Camp Nou to fight with Dembélé for a place in the Barça forward line.

His strong point is his ability to break in one-on-one situations, thanks to the speed he brings to his driving moves and his very good individual technical resources. He generates superiority and breaks pressure lines because he is a brave and determined player.

He always goes with high revolutions, creating a lot of volume of play with a frenetic rhythm. He is a hammer, generous in his physical effort, and very sharp, who performs well in short spaces as well as on the run.

His natural position, the one in which he plays most minutes throughout the season, is that of right winger, playing on the left, always very open, giving maximum width to his team, both in the Premier League and in the 'Canarinha' coached by Tite.

In this sense, he is a tactically aware player, who knows how to stay on the side of the goal to benefit his team as he forces the opposing defence to open up. He looks for diagonals to link up or to finish with his powerful long-range shot, a resource he uses very frequently throughout the game. He arms his foot with ease.

One of his differential elements is that he also offers good performances playing on the left wing, where he very often reaches the back line and calibrates his crosses well. This versatility is a tactical resource much appreciated by his coaches, because of the possibility of changing the attacking formation.

He has very good numbers this season, the best of his career. In his second year at Leeds, he played 28 games (27 in the Premiership and one in the FA Cup) with 9 goals and 3 assists.

In the Seleçao he has had a brilliant progression in his debut campaign: 7 games played (5 starts) in which he has scored 3 goals and provided two assists. With the Canarinha, his best game was in October in the 4-1 win over Uruguay in Manaus, when he scored two goals.

He has a great understanding with Neymar Jr, both speak the same footballing language. He will go to the World Cup in Qatar as a starter, having replaced Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison. The Brazilian press is delighted with his contribution, his personality and the fact that he connects with the best traditions of the Pentacampeons.

In an effort to bring Barcelona back to their former glories, Xavi has been given the responsibility of managing a significant renovation.

The team the Spaniard took over last season was, to put it mildly, lacking, but with the arrivals of Raphinha, Christensen, and Kessie, Camp Nou's future seems promising.

The addition of Robert Lewandowski will provide Xavi a wide range of offensive alternatives for the upcoming season.
