21/22 Champions League Tables As Chelsea And United Won

The third round of matches in the group stage of the 2021/2022 Champions League campaign were played across Europe.

There's plenty to be discussed in the Champions League, but for now, we will spend a moment assessing what we've borne witness to across Europe in terms of groups standings.

Group A

The French giants top Group A with seven points from a possible nine after defeating Leibniz, thanks to Lionel Messi brace. 

Manchester City are trailing PSG with 1 point after trashing Club Brugge 5–1 in an earlier encounter.

Group B 

Liverpool continued their perfect record in this group after stealing 3 points from Athletico Madrid. They top the group with 9 points. 

Both Porto and Athletico have four points while Ac Milan are yet to earn a point in the competition.

Group C

Ayax beats Sporting Lisbon 5-1 on Wednesday. They are table-toppers in this group with 9 points. In the group's other match Borussia Dortmund came away from Turkey with a 2-1 win over Besiktas.

Group D

Sheriff are levelled on points with Real Madrid after their 3-1 lost to Inter Milan. Madrid thrashed Shakhtar 5-0 to get their second win of the campaign.

Group E

Barcelona kept their hope of reaching the knock-out stage alive after beating Dynamo Kiev 1-0, thanks to Gerard Pique's goal. 

In the other group's match, Bayern Munich struck four times to cruise past Benfica.

 Group F

This group sees Villareal moved into third in the standings on four points from three games, behind leaders Manchester United (six ) and Atalanta (four).

Group G

The group leaders, Salzburg claimed a victory over Wolfsburg to move 4 points ahead of Sevilla who are second with 3 points. 

Juventus maintained their top position after a hardfought 1-0 victory away to Zenit St Petersburg. They top the group with 9 points while Chelsea are second with six points.
