Newcastle told to poach Mourinho from Roma

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has now been suggested as an ideal manager for Newcastle United after Antonio Conte, but he is under a three-year contract with Roma

The Premier League club are prepared to pump money into the transfer and sack current coach Steve Bruce, but finding it difficult to get a successor worthy of their ambitions.

Danny Mills, a former player, has now suggested the Portuguese tactician would be the ideal candidate, just months after he was dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur.

Mills told talkSport radio: “If you’re talking about being given money to build a team and be relatively successful, I’d go with Mourinho.”

“If you give Jose enough money and allow him to do what he wants to do, he will guide you to success quicker than probably anyone else."

“Newcastle can go slowly and survive this season. Next season finish in the top half, then top six.”

"He called his wins so far in the campaign his biggest “challenge” of his career precisely because he doesn’t have unlimited funds to bolster the squad," he concluded.
