The Egyptian, and Portuguese superstars are currently up against each other, but not for the golden boot award, but for player of the month for September.
This early in the season and fans can already see how integral this players are in there respective clubs. Since, Cristiano Ronaldo move to Manchester United, the club has suddenly been seen as favourite for every possible trophy this season, from the premier league trophy, to that of the FA cup, and champions league and with Mohammad Salah involvement in Liverpool, Liverpool are always seen as favourite also for every possible trophy.
Which among this players then could go all out and win the golden boot this season. Fans might question why the likes of Harry Kane, Gabriel Jesus, Jamie Vardy, Pierre Aubameyang and the likes aren't on this list, the reason is simple and clear.
Manchester City has started this season with no known forward striker, the one they own rarely starts, and when he does Pep Guardiola plays him as a winger, rather than a forward. Yes, Arsenal might have rediscovered their form, but no assurances can be placed on their forward line.
Jamie Vardy advance in age, has made some things he could some four, five years back difficult, and one of such is his pace. As evidently seen in Leicester City games so far in the season, Vardy has had his goal scoring ability hampered, and while it seems like Harry Kane might be back following that impressive outing in the conference league, Kane has looked a shadow of his former self, after that move to Manchester City couldn't push through.
Which then leaves us with two viable names, Mohammed Salah, and Cristiano Ronaldo. While some would say, Ronaldo wouldn't play all of Manchester United games this season, I don't think Ole Gunner would have another alternative, with all Manchester United forward players currently misfiring.
Salah has however kept on breaking records, after becoming the fastest Liverpool player to score a hundred goals, and we all can see his influence in that team.
So if I were asked, who would win the premier league top scorer award this season, Mohammed Salah would be my answer.
